How to Donate In-Kind

In-kind donations help HOPES advance water safety, emergency preparedness, and life-saving education across Hawaiʻi. These contributions allow us to direct financial resources where they are needed most.

Step 1: Contact Us

Before sending items, please email support@hawaiihopes.org with:

• A brief description of the item(s)

• Quantity and condition

• Your name and contact information

This helps ensure items meet current program needs.

Please include a note with your name, email or phone number, and a brief description of the items for acknowledgment purposes.

A staff or volunteer will contact you to arrange for you to drop off or have the items picked up. 

Sample of Items We Always Need

Below is a representative list of in-kind donations that directly support HOPES programs.

Water Safety & Rescue Equipment

• • Rescue Towers - aquatic and ocean

  • Life jackets (adult & child, USCG-approved)

  • Throw rings, throw bags, rescue buoys

  • Rescue boards and back boards

  • Whistles and signaling devices

Emergency Response & First Aid

• • First aid kits (gloves, gauze, CPR masks, tourniquets)

  • AED units or AED training devices

  • CPR mannequins (adult, child, infant)

  • Trauma kits for training or deployment

  • Emergency blankets and BVMs 
    
    

Training, Education & Outreach

• • Water safety signage and printed educational materials

  • Dryland training equipment (cones, stopwatches, clipboards)

  • Projectors, screens, or portable PA systems

  • Laptops or tablets for instruction and recordkeeping

  • Swim instruction aids (kickboards, fins, goggles, instructional swim toys)
    
    

Program & Workforce Support

• • Uniforms, rash guards, hats, or sun-protective gear

  • Reef-safe sunscreen

  • Hydration supplies (water bottles, coolers, electrolyte mixes)

HOPES is a faith-based organization recognized under IRC §508(c)(1)(a). In-kind donations are acknowledged in writing upon request. Donors are responsible for determining the fair market value of donated items for tax purposes. No goods or services were provided in exchange for this contribution.
